Live Music in the Mile High City

The Mile High City’s best music venues have played host to many great and up-and-coming musicians in the past. If you’ve got a hankering for catching some live music shows in Denver, here’s a quick list of best places to get your dose of tunes:
  • Swallow Hill Music is a great place for country- and folk-music fans to experience the cities storied heritage in these genres. Hosting more than 200 shows a year, you’re bound to find something acoustic you’ll fancy within the hallowed halls of this local musical institution.
  • The Bluebird Theater used to be a movie house and porn theater, but what it’s been transformed into is nothing short of magical. Arguably the best mid-sized music venue in the city, this 500-capacity venue hosts acts by indie artists, country singer-songwriters, and even heavy metal bands.
  • If dancing to swinging country and hard rock music is your kind of thing, the Grizzly Rose is a great place to show off your cowboy dance floor swagger. With line-dancing floors, mechanical bulls and pool tables, this western-themed venue will fulfill any cowboy’s or cowgirl’s hunger for live music.
  • Dazzle Jazz is arguably the city’s unofficial haven for all things jazz. Right in Capitol Hill, this soulful and classy venue hosts a fantastic mix of homegrown and nationally recognized jazz musicians.
